虽然暂居第三位的卢彪曾经尝试要超越唐伟枫，但是因为唐伟枫没有松懈过的防守使他难以找到一个突破点去进攻。但在比赛剩下最后一圈，所有人以为尘埃落定的时候。唐伟枫的赛车突然失控，并冲进沙池，这意味着他不得不遗憾退赛。随着方格旗的出现，余啸峰第一个冲过终点，紧接着是卢彪和史蒂夫，登上颁奖台的三位车手终于确定。同时，卢彪做出全场最快圈速，取得额外的2分。

当史蒂夫唯一的总冠军劲敌李发昌因赛车失控而退赛后，即意味着他即提前一站夺得车手总冠军。赛后史蒂夫表示：“这个总冠军是我离开赛车24年后回来夺得的第一个年度总冠军。也许奖杯上是我的名字，但是作为我的教练，李静雯才是真正的胜利者。她耐心的教导是我能在本赛季不断站上领奖台的原因之一。她真的帮助了我很多，所以我要特别感谢她。
史蒂夫补充到“我很高兴自己能成为克里欧中国系列赛里面其中的一名车手。因为所有的车手就如一家人一样亲切，虽然在场上我们是对手，但是其实我们会分享技术信息和相互帮助。所以说这不单单是一场比赛，对于我们而言，更像是一场聚会。同时我还要谢谢FRD，因为他们出色的组织及推广，我们才能拥有这如此难忘的一年。”
第10回合的比赛将会在明天下午1点15分进行，发车顺序将根据星期六第二回合的排位赛成绩来开始。
In Clio Cup qualifying 1 Eric Lo took pole position, with Steve Elmes alongside taking 2nd on the starting grid. Shaun Thong and Frank Yu shared the 2nd row, following by Byron Tong, Kenneth Ma, Hu Cheng Wei, Huang Yi, Gerard Yap and Oliver Lee.
During the 10-lap race four drivers, Frank, Eric, Shaun and Steve, competed aggressively to claim a position on the podium. Shaun passed pole sitter Eric at the beginning of the race, while experienced driver Frank found a chance to overtake Shaun in lap 2, dominating the race from then to the checkered flag.
Although 3rd position Eric tried to overtake Shaun, he could find a good braking point to do so and with only one lap left, Shaun lost control of his car and drove into the gravel. Unfortunately this meant that he had to retire from the race. After the checkered flag was shown, Frank passed the finish line as the winner, following by Eric and Steve. Eric Lo won the 2 point bonus for setting the fastest lap time during the race.
“It was a good race” said Frank. “I really enjoyed it. And I just need to finish tomorrow’s race safely then I can stand on the final podium. I also really want to congratulate Steve on winning the driver championship.”
Steve Elmes, who won the championship after his only title competitor Oliver retired from the race after losing control of his car, indicated: “This title is the first one I’ve won since I came back into racing after 24 years off the circuit. Maybe the title is under my name, but Diana Rosario, as my coach, is the real winner. The most important reason that I’ve been able to stand on the podiums during this season is her patience. She really helped me incredibly. “
“I feel so happy to be one of drivers in the Clio Cup China Series - all the drivers are like family members in that we share technical information and help each other with the driving…it’s not only a race, but also a party for of all us.” Steve added “Also I need to thank FRD. Because of their great organization, we all can have a year to remember.”
Round 10 will take place tomorrow afternoon at 1:15pm, with the starting position determined by the results of today’s Qualifying 2.
