Formula Masters China Series starting in 2013

　　Sports Car Project China at Volkswagen Group made an announcement at the Sports Car Champions Festival at Shanghai International Circuit that a new formula racing series - Formula Masters China Series (FMCS) – will start its first season in 2013. This new racing series aims to create a platform for young talented drivers in China and Asia to further develop their skills and proceed in their racing career.
　　
　　The series kicks off in May 2013 and hosts 6 events in the first season, racing at Chinas’ and Asias’ top circuits. This brand new series offers young drivers in both China and Asia not only an opportunity for very competitive but affordable racing, but also best opportunities to step-up into Scirocco R-Cup China, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia and Audi R8 LMS Cup China.
　　
　　FMCS will provide a formula car using a Tatuus FA010 Carbon composite monocoque chassis, FIA F3 standard, powered by a Formula Evo 2.0 FSI engine from Volkswagen Group resources. The teams are limited to minor changes at the car, such as suspension adjustment and tyre pressure, to ensure reasonable budgets for participating teams and drivers. In 2013, there will be 18 cars on the grid, of which 6 seats will be reserved for a Chinese young drivers’ development program.
