由方程式赛车发展有限公司(FRD)主办的亚洲AFR方程式系列赛，将于下周末(3月15-17日)于珠海国际赛车场（ZIC）举行本年度的首两回合赛事。今届赛事如往年一样，吸引到来自不同国家的车手争逐。此外，亦有年轻的新秀车手，希望在今年的赛事为自己打响名堂，令自己将来可以如莱科宁、汉密尔顿等车手一般，踏上F1的大舞台。
今年的参赛阵容鼎盛，包括上届车队总冠军Buzz Racing，将再次派出两名日本车手参赛。其中，在去年AFR系列赛勇夺国际组殿军的霜野诚友(Shigetomo Shimono)今年将卷土重来，希望成绩更上一层楼。而他的队友白石勇树(Yuki Shiraishi)亦值得赛车迷留意，他曾在2011AFR系列赛中，夺得国际组亚军。两名车手必会在今年的赛事中有一番精彩争斗。
曾多次参加AFR赛事的美国车手，Sideways Driving Club/ChildFund的彼得．奥尔森(Pete Olson)今年加盟佩卡．萨里尼车队(PS Racing Team)，令这支车队的实力大增。此外，去年香港房车锦标赛(N2000组)全年总冠军王日昇亦强势加盟，加上赛事唯一的女车手亚历山德拉(Alexandra Asmasoebrata)，令赛事更添亮点。
亚洲赛车队(Asian Racing Team)一如以往的派出多名经验丰富的车手参与比赛，包括曾在去年AFR系列赛IFC组夺得过分站冠军的瑞士车手陆浩文(Thomas Luedi)，亦有2012 IFC组全年总殿军---香港的王家铨，更有参加过中国方程式的中国好手杨曦，实力不容忽视。
另外，凯飞车队(Champ Motorsport)今年亦邀请到来自哥伦比亚的朱里奥阿科斯塔(Julio Acosta)参加全年赛事。而来自中华台北的实力车手康哲玮亦会代表康仕竞速车队(KRC Racing Team)出赛。而有多年参与各项赛车经验的陈启耀，今年则会与FRD Racing Team合作参赛。这几名车手绝对有实力左右战局。
除上述的车队和车手外，今年的AFR系列赛亦有数名实力车手将会确认参赛，我们将会继续跟进和更新参赛名单。今年的首场赛事将会在3月15-17日于珠海举行，各位切勿错过!
AFR Series, organized by FRD, will hold its season opener next weekend (March 15-17) in ZIC. Like previous seasons, the AFR Series attracted a number of experienced drivers from different countries, as well as some up and coming rookie drivers, who would like to make their names during this season and hope that they can step up to the world of F1 like the predecessors, Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton.
While this year’s grid is taking shape, we can reveal that it is one of the most exciting in years. The defending champion team, Buzz Racing, will bring along with 2 Japanese drivers. Shigetomo Shimono, last year’s 3rd runners up of the season, will hope for an even better performance this season. His new teammate, Yuki Shiraishi, was the 1st runner up of 2011 AFR Series. We can expect an exciting duel between them throughout the season.
AFR Series veteran, Sideways Driving Club/ChildFund driver Pete Olson from USA, will race for PS Racing Team this season. This will be a major boost for this team. In addition to the line-up, last year’s Hong Kong Touring Car Championship N2000 Class Champion Sunny Wong also joined the squad, with the Series’ only female driverAlexandra Asmasoebrata, who will add excitement to the races.
Asian Racing Team will also be represented by a number of good drivers, including Swiss driver Thomas Luedi, who won races in AFR Series IFC Class last year. Joining him, the 3rd runner up in 2012 IFC Class Leo Wong, and CFGP driver Yang Xi from China. This will be a team to watch as well.
Columbian Julio Acosta will join Champ Motorsport for the whole season, while Jason Kang from Chinese Taipei will also join the series with KRC Racing Team. Racing veteran Samson Chan will join FRD Racing Team for this season. These drivers will be in the mix of race combat for the whole season.
Apart from the above, there will be some more drivers to be confirmed to race in 2013 AFR Series. We will be you updated with the latest entry list. The first race of the season will be on March 15-17 in Zhuhai.
