Championship leader Tommy Chan further extends his lead in the points-table by narrowly beating Naomi Schiff, the only female driver on the grid. Huang Yi capitalized on others misfortunes to capture Class B win.
The race was held under overcast condition. After an overnight rain, the track became green and slippery, and it created chaos in the opening lap. While the frontrunners ran away quickly in Lap 1, a 3-car crash happened behind the pack with rookie Liu Hai Long smashed his car into Ye Xingping. Liu rejoined with a broken bumper, and Ye had to retire for good.
Pole-sitter Tommy Chan, meanwhile, pulled out a 2-second lead over Naomi in the start, but the gap was chopped in the final laps. Naomi tried to overtake Tommy several time but Tommy’s defensive driving left her with no chance but to settle for second. Tommy Chan then captured his 4th Class A win of the season.
Kenneth Ma grabbed 3rd after passing Eric Lo in the penultimate lap. The duo was locked in for a race-long battle since the start. They were briefly joined with Yang Xu, but yet another blown tire forced him to retire in Lap 8.
In Class B, Huang Yi was unchallenged after the other 3 Class B rivals’ collision in Lap 1. He claimed 5th got his second Class B win in 2013. Di Yue Long escaped the opening chaos unharmed and got 6th and 2nd in Class B. Liu Hai Long finished 3rd in class with his damaged car.
