9月17日，马来西亚独立千禧杯12小时耐力赛（MMER）在雪邦国际赛车场开赛。2011大众汽车中国赛车Scirocco R-Cup参与其中房车组的争夺。12小时耐力赛中，尚酷R杯全年注册车手必须首发，前9圈决定第9回合的积分。9圈下来，意大利车手蒙特西(Stefano Montesi)获得冠军，比赛总用时28:09.100。中国车手尹海涛获得亚军，另一名意大利车手安德烈亚(Andrea Reggiani)获得季军，他贡献了第九回合的最快单圈2:34.312.
周五排位 MMER-独立千禧杯12小时耐力赛共有46辆赛车参加，分为GT组、超级量产组和房车组。Scirocco R-Cup有17辆赛车参加房车组的比赛。周五三节排位赛过后，成绩最好的是97号赛车，排全场第23位，成绩是7:40.566，三名车手排位成绩分别为：第一节张大胜2:33.459，第二节朱戴维2:33.998，第三节马西米利亚诺(Massimiliano Wiser)2:33.109。由安德烈亚和他的队友们驾驶的80号赛车排在全场第26位，排位总成绩是7:43.239。其余的14辆Scirocco R-Cup赛车占据了全场第27-40的位置。

September 17th, Scirocco R-Cup China traveled to Malaysia to join the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race (MMER). During the 12 race-hours, Scirocco R-Cup registered drivers must do the first shift and first 9-laps defines the points for round 9. The Italian, Stefano Montesi won (28:09.100); Chinese Yin Haitao captured 2nd; Andrea Reggiani was third and he set the best lap (2:34.312)
Friday Qualify: Zhang Dasheng grabbed pole MMER enjoyed a remarkable grid with 46 cars. The race was divided into 3 classes: GT, Super Production and Touring Production. Scirocco R-Cup brought 17 cars to the line-up to join the Touring Production class. The Friday qualifying saw Car No.97 grabbed pole of Scirocco R (23rd overall) and their qualify result was 7:40.566. The best lap for each team member: Session 1 Zhang Dasheng 2:22.459, session 2 David Zhu 2:33.998, session 3 Massimiliano Wiser 2:33.109. Reggiani and his teammates (car No.80) qualified 2nd in Scirocco R (overall 26th) and their result was 7:43.239. The rest of the Scirocco fleet qualified overall 27th to 40th, respectively.
Saturday, round 9: Montesi won The 12-hour race started at 12:00 in the noon, led by pace car. The air temperature was over 50℃. Zhang Dasheng’s first lap was 2:36.314 and it was not good enough to defend the cars behind him, seemed he was not in good shape for the start. Lap 4, the GT class already lapped Touring Production class, which indeed affected the Scirocco R cars’ performance. Reggiani managed to overtake Zhang, and Montesi was following Zhang very aggressively. Lap 6, Montesi passed Zhang and Reggiani respectively to lead the Scirocco R cars. Lap7, Yin Haitao managed to move up to 2nd by overtaking Zhang and Reggiani. The following laps, car No.83 Sam Yau and No.92 Patrick Boulaud also passed Zhang. In the end, Montesi won with Yin and Reggiani on 2nd & 3rd, respectively. Yau, Boulaud and Zhang were 4th to 6th, respectively.
