　　5月28日，2011大众汽车中国赛车Scirocco R-Cup在珠海国际赛车场揭幕。
　　
　　在上午进行的排位赛中，驾驶1号赛车的上赛季年度冠军安德烈亚(Andrea Reggiani)一举夺得杆位，最快单圈1分55秒123。驾驶11号赛车的新加坡车手张灵康(Ringo Chong)排在第二，中国车手张大胜排在第三，本赛季他依旧驾驶黄色的22号赛车出战。另一名意大利车手蒙特西(Stefano Montesi)排在第四。排在发车位前七名的车手最快单圈成绩相差在一秒钟之内。
　　
　　下午1点24分，2011大众汽车中国赛车Scirocco R-Cup第一回合比赛正式开始。在进入一号弯之前，张大胜已超越张灵康排在第二，一圈过后，张大胜超过安德烈亚升至第一位，安德烈亚第二，蒙特西第三位，张灵康落至第四。比赛进行到第五圈，驾驶19号赛车的中国香港车手张宏智(William Cheung)与驾驶8号赛车的中国车手包金龙发生碰撞，所幸两台赛车都能继续比赛。驾驶11号赛车的新加坡车手张灵康在9号弯弯心处撞上蒙特西的赛车，严重影响了两车的名次。此时跑在前三位的车手是张大胜、安德烈亚和安全躲避过前车事故的5号车手游绍明，三名车手之间的差距均在一秒之内。11圈比赛结束，前三名没有发生变化。
　　
　　获得Scirocco R-Cup第一回合比赛冠军的是张大胜，全场用时21分29秒460，他同时创造全场最快单圈成绩1分56秒064。获得亚军的是安德烈亚，季军是游绍明。获得第四至第八名的车手分别是程承、井田雅彦、张宏智、尹海涛、田利英。
　　
　　赛后新闻发布会上，获得前三名的车手均表示这是一场严酷而有趣的比赛。安德烈亚热赞张大胜的比赛状态有大幅度提升，很期待下一回合比赛与他的较量。张大胜则表示这场比赛对他来说很艰难，他非常努力的去体会和驾驭这台新赛车，努力让自己在轮胎最佳工作时间内作出好成绩。根据赛事规则，前八名车手将在第二回合倒叙发车。这对中国赛手尹海涛来说，是个登上颁奖台的好机会。

　May 28th, the debut race of 2011 Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup China went to Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC).

　　
　　During the qualifying session, Andrea Reggiani (car No.1) grabbed pole, and his best lap was 1’55”123. Ringo Chong (car No. 11) qualified 2nd while Dasheng Zhang (car No.22) qualified 3rd. Stefano Montesi seized the other position on the 2nd row for the grid of round 1.
　　
　　The 1st round started at 13:24 sharp. Dasheng Zhang got off to a smooth start and passed Chong before turn 1. After just 1 lap, Zhang managed to take the lead from Reggiani and led the race with Reggiani, Montesi and Chong following closely behind. Lap 5, William Cheung (car No.19) and Jinlong Bao (car No.8) had a contact, luckily, both of them managed to stay in the competition. Chong & Montesi started a close fight at lap 5 with several contact during the following laps. Both Chong & Montesi lost their positions in the race. Zhang, Reggiani and Sam Yau, who managed to avoid all the incidents, were 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
　　
　　In the end, Dasheng Zhang won the race with total time of 21’29”460 and he also set the best lap of the round (1’56”064). Pole sitter Reggiani settled for 2nd, with Yau 3rd. David Cheng, Ida Masahiko, William Cheung, Haitao Yin, and Liying Tian were 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th, respectively.
　　
　　During post race press-conference, the top 3 drivers indicated that the race was tough and enjoyable at the same time. Reggiani indicated that Zhang was in good shape for the season and he expected some healthy competition with Zhang in the following races. Dasheng Zhang, the winner of the race, said:”It was a tough race for me and I spent a lot of effort to get to know the new car. It was vital to learn more about the tire and break.”According to the regulation, the grid for the 2nd round will put Haitao Yin on pole. Stay tuned for more from the race.
