Naomi Schiff snatches victory in 2014 Clio Cup China Series R2 after a thrilling battle with Yu Kam Cheong during the last lap of race. Huang Yi won in Class B, while Chin Kar Lok again the fastest celebrity driver.
R1 winner Eric Lo jumped Naomi Schiff at the start to take first. They, along with Yu Kam Cheong formed a leading trio and pulled away from the pack. Naomi tried a pass early on but failed and got passed by Yu Kam Cheong in Lap 3.
Yu Kam Cheong then tried to take the lead from Eric Lo but they contacted at the process. Yu Kam Cheong got damage but managed to continue, while Eric Lo got spun out. With the damaged car, Yu Kam Cheong struggled to hold off Naomi and in the final lap, Naomi got through and take the victory, after being penalised in R1. Yu Kam Cheong 2nd, while FRD’s Kenneth Ma got 3rd.
Chin Kar Lok was again the fastest celebrity driver in 4th, ahead of Alan Lee and Class B winner, Huang Yi. Tsang Ho Kwan and Ye Xingping shared the rest of Class B podium.
For the other celebrities, Fong Chun Shun looked set for a Class B podium before a 30-second penalty imposed for jump start. Ch’ng Se Min, meanwhile, finished the race unscathed in her racing debut.
