韦沙在首节排位赛开始时就排上了第一，期间虽然曾经打滑掉头，但仍然以1:13:755的最快圈速夺得R1杆位。第二和第三名分别由香港的唐绍裘和陈鸿伟夺得。他们在整场排位赛中不断交换位置，结果唐绍裘以些微优势压倒陈鸿伟，取得第二。

继续参赛，最终与另一名中国车手叶兴平，分别夺得第四、五、六位。第七位则由FRD的马汉华所得。
第二节排位赛，韦沙再次展现其实力，在有微雨的状况下仍造出1:13:048，夺得R2杆位。陈鸿伟紧随其后。而杨旭最后造出令人惊喜的第三快时间，超越马汉华和唐绍裘。
赛事期间的微雨令赛道变得湿滑，不少车手都有打滑失控的情况。而排位赛中比较严重的意外则由SRT的史杰所引致，他的赛车撞牆后，前轮损坏，被逼提早退赛，最终会于第六位发车。叶兴平和黄毅则排第七和第八。
两回合的克里欧杯中国系列赛
决赛会于星期日举行。
Italian driver Max Wiser from SRT Team dominated in both qualifying session at the first round of Clio Cup China Series inTianma Circuit. Despite not eligible for points and prize, he will start from pole in both R1 and R2.
Max Wiser set his mark right at the start of Q1, and, despite spinning once on the track, he ultimately settled for a 1:13:755 lap for pole position. Second and third places went to Hong Kong’s Byron Tong and Tommy Chan, as they battled it out for the whole session. At the end, Byron Tong piped Tommy Chan for second.
Several drivers had some off track excursions during this session, like China’s Huang Yi and Yang Xu. Yet they both rejoined and, along with fellow countryman Ye Xing Ping, ended up in P4, P5 and P6. While FRD’s Kenneth Ma brought up the field in 7th after some electrical issues.
In the second session, Wiser topped the timesheet again. A 1:13:048-lap ensured him the R2 pole during a tricky session. Tommy Chan scored second, while Yang Xu surprised the field by posting a third fastest time, just ahead of Kenneth Ma and Byron Tong.
Light rain during the session means the track has become slippery and many drivers experienced some off track moment. SRT’s Shi Jie came out worst as he spun and hit the wall, bended his front axle and out of the session early. He still managed to get P6, ahead of Ye Xing Ping and Huang Yi.
