在周六上午的两次官方练习中，图施尔分别以2:05.671和2:05.765的成绩占据首位。13号车手松下(Nobuharu Matsushita)排在第二，成绩是2:06.822和2:06.557。第一次官方练习排在第三位的是索弗彦，成绩2:06.845，第二次官方练习排在第三位的是23号车手路易斯(Luis Sa Silva)，成绩是2:06.576。
下午4时许，天降骤雨。雨停后，赛道上仍有积水，所以全部赛车选用雨胎出战。索弗彦在第三圈就做出最快单圈成绩2:21.443，以相当大的领先优势暂列第一。松下在第三圈打转退赛。随着赛道逐渐变干，开始有赛车回到维修区调整。第九圈，8号车手黎志聪做出2:21.369的最快单圈，跃升至第一位。仅一圈过后，图施尔就用2:21.144的成绩刷新了榜首。最后一圈，图施尔再次提升，2:20.774将杆位收入囊中。黎志聪第二，成绩是2:21.369，索弗彦第三，成绩是2:21.434。路易斯第四，成绩是2:21.627。
明天（周日，14日），FPC青年方程式第三分站的比赛将在上、下午共进行两回合
决赛，每回合10圈。

August 13th, 2011, Formula Pilota China (FPC) came to Shanghai International Circuit (SIC). The qualifying session saw car No.18 Matheo Tuscher grabbed pole, while Chinese young gun Chi Cong Li qualified 2nd. Dustin Sofyan (car No.29) was 3rd.
During the free practices on Saturday morning, Tuscher set the best laps for both sessions (2:05.671 session 1 & 2:05.765 session 2). Japanese driver Nobuharu Matsushita was in good shape for the weekend, as he was 2nd for both free practice sessions. Sofyan and Luis Sa Silva shown good consistency during the practice.
It started raining around 4:00 in the afternoon and the teams used rain tyres. Sofyan was in good shape and led the time table for several laps. Matsushita spun at lap 3 and retired from the competition. As the rain stopped and the track situation got better, some of the drivers went back to pit. Chi Cong Li set 2:21.369 in lap 9 and took the lead. After one lap, Tuscher set 2:21.144 to take the lead. Last lap, Tuscher managed to renew his best lap to 2:20.774 and took pole position. Li settled for 2nd. Sofyan (2:21.434) and Sa Silva (2:21.627) qualified 3rd and 4th, respectively.
